Have you heard? For women, 50 is the new 30 – and we have skincare to thank for that.
From anti-aging serums to injectables, advancements in skincare for mature skin have made it easier for women to maintain a youthful look. It’s time to wave goodbye to wrinkles and age spots and embrace the confidence that comes with experience. Here are a few tried-and-true favorites our clients over 50 can rely on:
Customized HydraFacials
HydraFacial is a versatile facial that works well for people of all ages and skin types. Some add-ons and customization options are especially life-changing for mature women.
- Dermabuilder Booster Serum: When applied at the end of a HydraFacial session, this powerful blend of peptides reduces signs of aging and recharges your skin.
- Growth Factor Booster Serum: If you’re starting to notice more fine lines and wrinkles, this serum can help ease them by boosting overall skin health.
- Britenol Booster Serum: Age spots? Not anymore! Britenol Booster Serum is perfect for sun spots, age spots, and uneven complexions.
If you’re used to traditional facials, consider switching to HydraFacial MD Plus for your aging skin. We combine the most effective steps of our more traditional Signature Facial with the HydraFacial boosts, giving you the most incredible, glowing results.
Microneedling
Microneedling is another highly effective, minimally invasive treatment for wrinkles, fine lines, and even scars. Your practitioner carefully inserts tiny needles into the surface of your skin. This stimulates your skin’s healing process. As your skin heals, it produces more collagen and elastin, proteins that diminish with aging.
In the weeks after a microneedling treatment, your skin regains fullness and elasticity, which has a marked anti-aging effect. It’s especially effective when performed around the mouth, eyes, forehead, and between the eyebrows.
Botox
Have you noticed pesky wrinkles that appear whenever you smile, frown, or laugh? Botox and other neurotoxin injections can work wonders on these dynamic wrinkles. They work to relax your muscles, smoothing your overall appearance. When used regularly, they also help keep wrinkles from deepening and worsening.
Dermal Fillers
This is another type of anti-aging injection that women over 50 absolutely love. No, dermal fillers won’t make you look stiff and plastic, at least not when injected by an experienced professional. What they can do is add volume in places where you’ve lost it.
Balance MedSpa offers a range of specialized fillers for clients with different needs. Sculptra is a dermal filler that works beautifully on smile lines and cheek wrinkles, and Juvederm is wonderful around the nose and chin. We’ll tailor the amount and placement of filler to your unique needs.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Many of our clients with age spots and uneven skin tone get great results from IPL. In this treatment, a special device is used to deliver pulses of light to the surface of your skin. The light heats your skin just enough to kill the damaged, discolored skin cells. As these discolored skin cells slough off, you’re left with a fresher, more even complexion.
Infini®
Some women notice that as they age, their skin becomes looser and less toned overall. If you catch this sagging early, you won’t need a facelift to tighten things up. Infini treatments can be quite effective, especially for women in their early 50s.
Infini transmits radiofrequency waves, or RF, to your skin through very fine needles. In doing so, it stimulates your skin’s production of collagen. The results are not instant; they develop in the weeks after treatment. However, with a few treatments over the span of 6 months to a year, women can dramatically improve their skin’s appearance without the need for surgery.
Photofractional Treatments
What about mature women with multiple skin concerns – like age spots, loose skin, and large pores? We have you covered, too. Photofractional treatments work really well for many clients with this combination of concerns. These treatments combine IPL with a specialized laser treatment called ResurFX.
Photofractional treatments heat up the skin, but only in special, controlled zones, called “fractions.” This helps stimulate your skin to produce more collagen, and it also helps reduce the melanin present in age spots and sun spots.
You can have a photofractional treatment on your lunch hour, and then go right back to work! Some women experience redness and swelling post-treatment, but these side effects are mild and fade quickly.
As you can see, there are many types of skincare for mature skin. If you’re ready to embrace your confidence and rediscover youthfulness, contact Balance MedSpa to schedule a consultation.
